Nobody Is Interested In Your Marketing

OUCH!

You don’t have to google too far to find a list of ‘customer-centric’ companies (or at least ones that claim to be so). Companies who proclaim that ‘the customer is at the centre of everything we do’.

Nobody likes a person who talks about themselves all the time, right? Then why do so many companies still do it? Why is their content all about what they have to offer (rather than how they will deliver what a consumer wants?)

This article by Jon Maxim at ADMA should provide an epiphany for a few Marketers (I hope!)

He takes phrases such as ‘be relevant and engaging’ and translates it into a ‘how to’ guide for Marketers. He explains how to get inside the head of your customers and engage with them (start by googling what their problem is). It’s a roadmap for re-engineering marketing.
